Merchandise Planning Manager – Qatar

An exciting opportunity to join an international luxury Department Store to lead a premium planning team in achieving financial success across a network of fashion and beauty categories. Our client is keen to find a Merchandise Planning Manager who is interested in putting their business, leadership and people skills to work, and use their skills, experience and creativity to develop visionary goals alongside the Senior Management team. Partnering with Key decision makers within the business, you will have accountability for achieving sales, gross margin, gross margin return on investment and inventory turn goals.


The successful candidate will:

  • Develop Merchandise Plans for Pre-Season and In-Season using both the tops-down and bottoms-up approach.

  • Develop and communicate a comprehensive Merchandise Plan strategy that aligns financial and product opportunities across multiple departments.

  • Manage OTB in concert with the Buying Team.

  • Construct Sku Plans within assigned merchandise area.

  • Execute the pre-season and in-season planning process.

  • Analyse Merchandise Plans to Financial Plans throughout Pre-Season and In-Season.

  • Develop and maintain the OTB with weekly updates and re-forecasts.

  • Present merchandise department financial forecasts and strategies during OTB monthly meetings.

  • Develop and monitor Buy Plans.

  • Identify opportunities and risks across the departments and prepare appropriate action plans.

  • Develop Top-Line Markdown plans and ensure that it is aligned with financial goals.

  • Prepare various analyses according to corporate objectives and strategies.

  • Review Stock Goals with Store Planner to ensure proper store assortment and inventory mix (in terms of classifications, price points, etc).

  • Manage and mentor direct reports. Support career development process to ensure job satisfaction and retention.

  • Participate in Company recruiting and management training initiatives.

  • Master all computer systems.

  • Foster a strong professional working relationship with the Buying Team and cross-functional departments.

  • Actively participate in all departmental meetings by sharing pertinent business information and fostering innovation.



  • Experienced Merchandise Planning Manager within luxury fashion environment.
  • At least 2 years of Management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics or Math.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Flexible and adaptable to a changing environment.
  • Able to develop, train and motivate individuals.
  • High level computer literacy on Merchandise Planning and Allocation systems.
