Assistant Customer Communications Manager – Dubai, UAE

About this job

A large leading luxury retail group based in the UAE are currently looking to appoint a Digital Content & Communications Developer to work with the Customer Communications Manager and the broader CRM team, across the group in the creation and curation of digital content for use within customer facing digital channels. To translate campaigns into targeted emails which drive the highest response rate to campaign activity.

 

The successful candidate will:

  • Ownership and management of all digital content.
  • Financial Dimension – to manage projects that have a scale and scope of approximately 1mlln AED at any given time. To influence change and business improvements in order to minimize agency reliance over the long term.
  • Generation of content for use in digital communication channels (e.g. digital banners, animated gifs, etc) for a wide variety of technology devices with a focus on mobile optimization.
  • Development and management of social applications through industry standard social tools (e.g. Buddymedia, Wildfire, etc).
  • Responsibility for email design and development in accordance with industry practice, to support Marketing Operations and loyalty programme (promotional and operational).
  • Ensure that all creative requests are delivered on time and in line with guidelines provided.
  • Propose and initiate activities to educate and raise awareness of best practice within group to internal customers.
  • Create and implement email templates (coding in html) using latest industry design and techniques focusing on layout, interactivity, design and messaging, optimizing for mobile devices (responsive / adaptive design).
  • Review agency creative and ensure best practices are being deployed by Marketing agencies where an existing agency relationship exists.
  • Responsibility for testing emails across various email clients, web browsers and mobile devices, to ensure correct rendering and design optimization.
  • Support the introduction of multivariate testing in emails and a programme of continued refinement in email design, to drive ROI from email marketing activity – open rates / click through / response rates to drive improvements and efficiencies.
  • Working with the analytics function, initiate tracking of recipient activity using industry standard techniques. Determine models for identifying the success of a given email such as path to purchase, customer engagement.
  • Responsible for approving initial email / design and copy, template checks and distribute accordingly internally and externally once final sign-off is completed.
  • Post receipt of a marketing brief, to create digital content for use in email, social and other digital channels.
  • Curation of user generated, brand generated and company generated – to determine what images should and shouldn’t be used within required guidelines.
  • Work with agencies on updates as well as look and feel of mobile applications and other owned digital properties (e.g. website).
  • Responsible for keeping abreast of industry trends and facilitating latest capability and best practice into company digital strategy.
  • Management of digital content library.
  • Provide leadership and direction to subordinates towards the achievement of goals and objectives.
  • Guide and motivate subordinates to enhance performance and produce high quality work, and ensure that they are continuously developed for higher level roles.
  • Prepare performance evaluation and appraisal reports of direct reports to assess subordinates productivity and progress and identify training needs of team members to improve efficiency and ensure conformity with standard procedures and practices.
  • Communicate any organizational changes and mitigate risks through effective change management.

 

Requirements:

  • Graduate or Post Graduate Degree.
  • 5+ years business to consumer experience, ideally within retail, of which at least 3 years gained in multi-channel direct marketing, including email marketing and specifically digital development experience.
  • Excellent html knowledge and extensive exposure / understanding of industry technology and social media development activity.
  • Proven Photoshop, Dreamweaver and/or other email development and design tool skills.
  • Experience of email marketing activity, ideally within a retail environment and having demonstrated technical solutions to marketing emails.
  • Experience of content management solutions.
  • Team management.
  • Experience using Digital native.
